| COLOUR DE VERRE CANDLE HOLDERS | ||||
| These gorgeous candle holders are the latest frit molds from Colour de Verre. These innovative two-part molds allow people to create beautiful tea light holders. There's 3 new shapes to the candle holders; a 5" round, a 3" square, and a curve candle holder that measures 7" long by 3-4" wide. Make 5 curved pieces to make a complete circle or combine 2 or more to make a wave. The two part mold consists of a mold that has a cavity and a plug that is suspended in the center of the cavity. The plug is removed after the glass has been fired. These molds can be filled with any size frit, sheet glass, or broken billets. Even glass scraps yield excellent results. Check out Colour de Verre's Gallery Page for some amazing creations using these wonderful box molds. Colour de Verre molds can be filled with glass powders, glass frits, dichroic frit or cut pieces of glass. Each mold comes with instructions and fill weights. Primo Primer is highly recommended by Colour de Verre for use with their molds. If you would like to use a boron nitride spray release for your molds, Colour de Verre highly recommends MR-97. |

ROUND CANDLE HOLDER MOLD
The 5" round candle holder consists of two pieces; the main mold that produces the shape and a center plug that is suspended over the center of the main mold to create the center hole. You can fill the mold with any size frit, sheet glass, billets, nuggets, or scrap pieces of glass (all the same COE). In a second firing you can tack fuse other Colour de Verre castings, frit balls shaped rods, stringers or noodles. The mold measures 7.5 x 7.5 x 3" and can fit into kilns as small as the FireBox 8 or any square 8" kiln chamber. Fill weight for the candle holder is 500 grams. To create the "sherbet" colors seen in the photo to the right, mix 5-10% of a transparent or opal frit with 90-95% fine clear frit.

CURVE CANDLE HOLDER MOLD
The Curve candle holder mold consists of two pieces; the main mold that creates the 7" long curved candle holder and a center plug that is suspended over the center of the mold to create the center hold. Make five and create a full circle or combine two or more to make a wave. Use any size frit you like, as well as scrap glass (all the same COE), nuggets, pebbles, casting billets or sheet glass. In a second firing, tack fuse other Colour de Verre castings to the lid and/or base. The larger mold for the base measures 8" x 5" x 2.5" tall and holds 375 grams. The smaller mold for the lid holds 180 grams. The upper box to the right was created by Eric Lovell of Uroboros Glass Studio using Uroboros Marigold for the base, and Clear/Black Stringers (courtesy Uroboros Glass). In the picture to the right bottom; the green box lid is topped with frit balls and bent stringers. The orange box is topped with a slumped rod and frit balls. |
