PERFORATED VASE CAPS
Our perforated vase caps are raw brass without a lacquer coating so they can be tinned, or patinated directly with black patina. We like patinating the caps with a solution of 2-3 ounces of black patina and a tablespoon of salt. Apply the solution with triple 0 steel wool and move in a spiraling direction around the cap. Constantly turn the steel wool to a fresh area for the best results. Prepare the cap by first cleaning with soapy warm water, dry, and then scrub in a spiraling direction with triple 0 steel wool to remove any oxidation.

The cap should be slightly larger than the aperture of the shade (1/8" - 1/4" larger). These caps are not meant to fit Odyssey lamp shades.
